We made it to Aries season. Happy astrological new year to you, and spring blessings! Things certainly do come a bit quicker as we move toward all things beginning again. During the last several weeks, we’ve been astrologically burned out. With no planets lit ablaze in fire signs, things were quite stagnant for a bit there. The movement has been slow. But now we’ve had Mercury and the sun move into the sign of Aries, our number one fire element. Aries has the spark and the glow of a match lit in the dark, its tenacity brings brightness to all around it. And Aries is our cardinal sign after all, the first in the bunch. It is a great initiator, doer, mover and shaker. It runs hot and often impulsively. Ruled by Mars, the planet of war, Aries does not shy away from action, or from saying exactly what is on their mind.
Aries moves fast and hot, and independently. Aries likes to go its own way. And we’re juxtaposing this fiercely unique sign with its sibling, Libra, on our full moon. If Aries is the one, Libra is the two. Libra’s sign is all about balancing two together, uniting, smoothing out, and evening over. This is a sign that is all about fairness, equity, and harmony, and likes to look damn good doing it. Libra likes to bring things together, to hear and see many different perspectives, to bring in all the information before making a decision. Aries, of course, acts now and thinks later. Quite impulsive, sometimes the rampant independence of Aries can lead to making decisions that are a little too individualistic. And sometimes Libra can move in the way of codependence. So for this full moon, we are inviting in a third-way wisdom of interdependence.
Interdependence operates by reminding us that we are interconnected, but not so much so that we are unable to think or act for ourselves. It gives us a backbone to stand firm and make choices that honor our needs while also acknowledging that others exist. And when we embrace both the one and the whole together, we access our connection to others while being able to move in our own ways. There’s a mutual reciprocity, opposed to either doing it all by yourself or relying on someone else to tend to needs without any symbiosis. We meet in the middle with interdependence.
This full moon also touts a lunar eclipse, and as you may recall, eclipse season really shocks us into awareness. We have another eclipse coming up on the new moon in a few weeks as well, so we’re in the zone. And mercury will be retrograde come April 1st. Which means we’ll be in a reflective space of awarneness for the first few weeks of this new year. Be kind to yourself, be patient with others, drink lots of water. We are sending you our full moon love!
